South Africa Emerging moved to an unassailable three-one series lead over Zimbabwe Emerging in Tshwane on Monday.
Captain Mitchell van Buuren and Western Province’s Daniel Smith hit 69 not out and 78 not out, respectively, as South Africa Emerging reached a 245-run target with 8.1 overs to spare in the fourth fixture of the five-match series.
Three wickets each for South Africa Emerging’s Nealan van Heerden, Nqaba Peter and Jordan Hermann had limited Zimbabwe Emerging to 244 all out in 47.2 overs.
South Africa Emerging lost the series opener before winning the next three matches. The final fixture will be played on Wednesday.
“The performance by the South Africans were especially impressive considering they lost the opening match heavily just over a week ago,” read a statement from Cricket South Africa.
“But they have hit back well and again proved to too good for their opponents.”
