The Atlantic Pirates’ most expensive purchase at last week’s Cape Premier League player auction was seamer Darian Naidoo.
The Pirates paid 1.1 million CPL dollars – the tournament’s fictional currency – for Naidoo.

The Pirates purchased several other players at the auction, including Netherlands seamer Ryan Klein and veteran Edgemead Cricket Club seamer Simon Blake.

Earlier this year, the Pirates announced the retention of several players, including seamers Diego du Plessis, Luke Petersen and Jody Lawrence.
The Pirates were runners-up in the 2021 CPL. They lost the final to the Devil’s Peak Dragons.
The tournament was not played in 2020. In 2019, the Cape Vikings claimed the inaugural title after beating the Hoeri Kwaggo Bulls in the final.
