Western Province batsman Daniel Smith and Titans batsman Dewald Brevis have been included in South Africa Invitational XI for this week’s three-day fixture against the West Indies in Benoni.
Smith is the only Western Province representative in the 13-man squad, which also includes Dolphins quartet Thando Ntini, Bryce Parsons, Hlompho Modimokoane and Ruan de Swart.
The squad features one player with international experience – the Warriors’ Wihan Lubbe. He played two T20Is in 2021.
“The squad is made up of a mix of provincial players that were made available by their respective provincial teams,” read a statement from Cricket South Africa.
“The fixture is an unofficial three-day match and will form part of the visiting team’s preparations ahead of the first Test against the Proteas.”
