South African batsman Dewald Brevis was bought by the Kandy Falcons during Tuesday’s Lanka Premier League draft.
Brevis joined the Falcons for $25,000 – approximately R414,000.
The 19-year-old right-hander played for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League earlier this year.
He has also been signed by the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots for the 2022 Caribbean Premier League.
Stubbs to Kings
Proteas batsman Tristan Stubbs joined the Jaffna Kings for $15,000 – approximately R248,000. Stubbs, too, played for the Mumbai Indians earlier this year.
Malan to Gladiators
Proteas and Boland batsman Janneman Malan was purchased by the Galle Gladiators for $40,000 – approximately R663,000.
Pretorius to Stars
All-rounder Dwaine Pretorius was drafted by the Colombo Stars for $60,000 – approximately R995,000.
Pretorius represented the Chennai Super Kings in the 2022 IPL. He will join Brevis at the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the 2022 CPL, too.
The 2022 Lanka Premier League will start in late July. This is the third edition of the five-team T20 tournament in Sri Lanka.
