The Dolphins will play Wednesday’s One-Day Cup, division one, qualifier against the Titans.
The Warriors ended the first stage of the tournament in second position last week.
However, they have since moved to fourth position after failing to field enough black African players in the XI for 16 February’s fixture against the Dolphins in Durban.
The Warriors named all-rounder Andile Mokgakane and wicketkeeper-batsman Sinethemba Qeshile in the XI for that match at Kingsmead.
Cricket South Africa, however, require a minimum of six players of colour – three must be Black African – per XI. The Warriors beat the Dolphins, but ultimately were not allocated the points.
“Basically, the game that we played against the Warriors, the first game, they did not adhere to the transformation requirements,” Dolphins chief executive officer Heinrich Strydom told Independent Media.
“CSA went through a process and then basically confirmed that the Warriors will lose their points from the game and we get points from that game. We didn’t even bring it to their attention. It was CSA who picked it up.
“I mean obviously we would have loved it to be done earlier because nobody quite knew what was happening. It took quite a long time – almost a month because it was on 16 February.
“I’ve spoken to to the Warriors guys. Like I said, we didn’t even, I didn’t even pick it up to be totally honest. CSA phoned us the next morning to say that they’re aware of it and they are looking into the matter.”
The winner of Wednesday’s qualifier at Kingsmead will meet Boland in Saturday’s final in Paarl.
Western Province are the reigning One-Day Cup, division one, champions. However, they ended this season’s tournament at the bottom of the points table.
