“We are pleased to have Dom’s renewed involvement in the club,” read a statement from Cape Town Cricket Club.

“Dom has a longstanding relationship with CTCC and, over the past several years, has had a successful coaching career overseas.

“He will work closely with new director of cricket William Hantam and WPCA premier league captain Geoff Dods.

“In this non-playing, senior coaching consultancy, Dom will also have key roles within our WPCA reserve A team and eventual junior cricket pipeline.”

Telo was capped 37 times at first-class level by the Cobras, Western Province and Derbyshire from 2005 to 2011. He is the leading first XI run-scorer in record history at Cape Town Cricket Club.
