Donovan Ferreira joins Faf du Plessis in CPL

All-rounder Donovan Ferreira is among several South Africans signed for this season’s Caribbean Premier League.

Ferreira has joined the Barbados Royals. He was in the Rajasthan Royals‘ squad for the 2023 Indian Premier League, but did not play a match. He played for the Joburg Super Kings in the SA20 earlier this year.

Ferreira will be joined by Proteas batsman Rassie van der Dussen at the Barbados Royals.

Proteas batsman Rilee Rossouw will play for the Trinbago Knight Riders.

All-rounders Corbin Bosch and George Linde – and batsman Dewald Brevis – have signed for the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots.

The St Lucia Kings will have former Proteas captain Faf du Plessis.

Leg-spinner Imran Tahir and all-rounder Dwaine Pretorius will be with the Guyana Amazon Warriors.

This year’s CPL is scheduled to start on 17 August, after the inaugural edition of Major League Cricket in the United States of America, which will also feature several South Africans.
