Durbanville Cricket Club’s Fritz de Beer and Brad Petersen were awarded by Cricket South Africa this week.
De Beer collected the T20 Community Cup Player of the Tournament award. Durbanville Cricket Club team-mates Eddie Moore and Tashwin Lukas – and Crusaders Cricket Club’s Cameron Gordon – were nominated for the same award.
Petersen was named South African Forces Player of the Year.
De Beer and Petersen won CSA’s T20 Community Cup title last year and the Western Province Cricket Association premier league title this year with Durbanville Cricket Club.
Meanwhile, Western Province seamer Raeeq Daniels collected the Khaya Majola Week Player of the Tournament award at Thursday’s CSA awards ceremony.
Western Province have given Daniels a rookie contract ahead of the 2025-26 domestic season in South Africa.
“The CSA pathway Awards play an important role in acknowledging the hard work being done at every level of our development pipeline,” said CSA domestic cricket executive Edward Khoza.
“From players to coaches, scorers and volunteers, these awards reflect the strength and commitment that continue to shape the future of cricket in South Africa.
“Congratulations to all the winners. Your performances and contributions have been outstanding and we hope this recognition inspires you to keep striving for excellence both on and off the field.”
