Leg-spinner Dyllan Matthews has joined Border ahead of South Africa’s 2023-24 domestic season.
The 26-year-old Matthews debuted in first-class cricket in 2016. He has since played first-class cricket for:
- North West;
- Lions;
- Easterns;
- Warriors;
- Cape Cobras; and
- KwaZulu-Natal Inland.
He has joined a Border squad that will be without fellow wrist spinners Nqaba Peter and Thomas Kaber. Peter and Kaber have joined the Lions and South Western Districts, respectively.
Border have also lost seamer Gideon Peters to North West and batsman Josh van Heerden to the Titans.
Border have promoted assistant coach Tumelo Bodibe. Former Titans seamer Rowan Richards has been hired as assistant coach.
