Easterns batsman Shane Dadswell has been named in the Lahore Qalandars’ squad for next month’s T20 series in Namibia.
The series will feature the Lahore Qalandars, Lions from South Africa and Richelieu Eagles – Namibia’s development team. Bengal from India have withdrawn from the competition.
“The Lahore Qalandars have an exchange programme. I applied and got in. It is great to train and play with them – and get in some quality cricket,” said Dadswell.
The Qalandars brand started in the Pakistan Super League.
Seamer Dilbar Hussain are among Dadswell’s Qalandars team-mates. Hussain has played for the Melbourne Stars in Australia’s Big Bash League, too.
Dadswell, meanwhile, has registered for the 2021-22 BBL draft.
He is among several South Africans to register for the draft, including Boland’s Pieter Malan.
Prior to playing professional cricket, Dadswell struck a record-breaking 490 from 151 deliveries for North West University Cricket Club (Pukke) against Potch Dorp Cricket Club in the 2017-18 North West Cricket premier league.
He played for the Lions during South Africa’s 2021-22 domestic season, but has been contracted by Easterns for 2022-23.
