Batsman Eddie Moore said goodbye to the Warriors and welcomed a move to Western Province ahead of South Africa’s 2022-23 domestic season on Monday.
Moore’s move to the Western Cape was confirmed last month. On Monday, he marked the end of a decade of semi-professional and professional cricket in the Eastern Cape.
Moore debuted in first-class cricket in February 2012. His final first-class fixture for the Warriors was in March 2022.

“Here’s to the end of an unforgettable chapter. I am grateful for all the learnings gained and experiences shared, the hardships that became my teachers, the heaviness that taught me how to rise again and again, and to every single person who would stop their world to celebrate my success and carry me through the tough times,” wrote Moore on social media.
“Thank you [Eastern Province] for blessing me with the opportunity to represent you for the past 18 years. Thank you for teaching me the importance of discipline, team work, the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. I will be forever grateful.
“Lastly, thanks to [Western Province] for restoring faith in my journey. The best is yet to come.”
The 29-year-old Moore has been contracted by Western Province. They have also contracted young batsman Ethan Cunningham and seamer Dane Paterson, who has returned from the Warriors.
