Edgemead Cricket Club will play Blue Bells Cricket Club in Sunday, 6 April 2025’s Western Province Cricket Association first division B T20 final at Newlands.
Edgemead Cricket Club won the 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24 WPCA first division B titles.
“The last three occasions, we beat Somerset West Cricket Club twice – and Montrose Cricket Club,” said Edgemead Cricket Club chairperson Lawrie Snyders.
“This Sunday will see us take on Blue Bells Cricket Club and attempt to secure a fourth consecutive title win. Kyle Duncan will be the only player to have played in the last four finals.
“There will be three teenagers in the side on the day, two of which played in last year’s final.”
Edgemead Cricket Club have been promoted to the 2025-26 WPCA first division A. They ended this season’s WPCA first division B in second position.
“Securing a fourth T20 title would be the cherry on the top as we have secured promotion to the first division A for next season,” added Snyders.

Blue Bells Cricket Club say ‘finals often decided by small moments’

Blue Bells Cricket Club captain Nadeem Bedford added: “We’re excited, but also focused. We know we’re up against a really good Edgemead team who have played really well this season and been very consistent.
“There’s a lot of confidence, but also a sense of respect for how strong they are. We just need to stick to our game plan, execute and play with heart.
“It’s going to come down to consistency and composure. Finals are often decided by small moments and, if we can stay calm under pressure, hopefully we can win those small moments and be victorious.”
