Titans head coach Mandla Mashimbyi praised batsman Rivaldo Moonsamy this week.
Moonsamy was named Player of the Year at the Titans’ awards ceremony for the 2023-24 domestic seasons in South Africa recently.
Moonsamy was also named the Titans’ First-Class Player of the Year, Fans’ Player of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year and T20 Player of the Year.
Moonsamy had returned to the Titans in division one of South African cricket after a stint with Northern Cape in division two.
“He’s had an exceptional season and it’s a bit of a fairytale return for him. We’re all very happy for him and pleased that he was able to produce the goods so often this season. The awards and recognition are well deserved,” said Mashimbyi.
Batsman Dean Elgar and seamer Merrick Brett won the Titans’ One-Day Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year award, respectively.
“I am emotional at the moment because I never thought I would be receiving all these awards. I have been part of this franchise for many years and I have been to these award ceremonies but I never thought it would be me,” added Moonsamy.
“I can’t describe how I am feeling at the moment, it is just an honour and privilege to have won all these awards at the franchise everybody would like to be part of.”
