Former Proteas assistant coach Enoch Nkwe has been appointed Cricket South Africa’s director of cricket.
Nkwe has succeeded former director of cricket Graeme Smith, whose tenure started in December 2019 and ended in March 2022.
Nkwe resigned as Proteas assistant coach in August 2021. He was working with the Lions in division one of South African domestic cricket prior to this week’s appointment at CSA.
Nkwe was previously employed as head coach of the Lions. He also coached the Jozi Stars to the inaugural Mzansi Super League title.
Warriors head coach Robin Peterson was in contention for the CSA director of cricket role, too.
