Fast bowler Stefan Tait leaves Warriors for KZN Inland

Fast bowler Stefan Tait has been contracted by KwaZulu-Natal Inland ahead of South Africa’s 2022-23 domestic season.

Tait previously played for the Warriors.

The Tuskers’ list of contracted players also features batsmen Malcolm Nofal and Jonathan Vandiar, whose moves from Limpopo and Northern Cape, respectively, were confirmed earlier this year.

“There are five changes to the contract list from last season,” read a statement from KwaZulu-Natal Inland.

Tshepang Dithole and Cameron Delport will be playing in division one next season for the Dolphins and Lions, respectively.

“Long-serving player and a stalwart for KZN Inland, Luke Schlemmer, has retired from cricket to take up a job opportunity in the United Kingdom.

“Left-arm pace bowler Thula Ngcobo has joined the Mpumalanga Rhinos.

“The experienced Vandiar has returned home to KZN and is a welcome addition to the Tuskers squad. Top-order batter and left-arm spinner Nofal will don the Tuskers colours.

“All-rounder Alindile Mhletywa has made the move from the Warriors, while left-arm pace bowler Tait has also moved from the Warriors to the Tuskers.

“Dolphins batsman Thamsanqa Kumalo is another welcome addition to the Tuskers.”

What KwaZulu-Natal Inland Cricket Union CEO Jason Sathiaseelan said

“We are excited with the squad assembled for the forthcoming season. We have identified key areas that required strengthening and the squad is a far more balanced one,” said Sathiaseelan, who was promoted recently.
