Former Proteas spinner Robin Peterson labelled Boland all-rounder Ferisco Adams “the most under-rated T20 cricketer in South Africa” this week.
Peterson made the remark during a SuperSport commentary stint, as Adams completed figures of one for 16 in four overs in Friday’s CSA T20 Challenge semi-final against Western Province.
“They make them tough in Robertson. Adams is is the most under-rated T20 cricketer in South Africa. He has been a star performer for the Rocks,” said Peterson.
Adams has been key to the Rocks’ CSA T20 Challenge campaign this season, with bat and ball. He is among the bowlers with the best economy rates and batsmen with the top strike rates.
When not playing provincial competition, Adams is with Robertson Cricket Club in the Boland premier league.

Almost two semi-final hat-tricks
Boland seamer Ziyaad Abrahams, meanwhile, almost claimed the second hat-trick of the day. Abrahams dismissed batsman Gavin Kaplan and all-rounder Wayne Parnell with successive deliveries. He would have completed a hat-trick if substitute fielder Hlomla Hanabe did not drop tail-ender Mihlali Mpongwana.
In the first semi-final, Titans spinner Tabraiz Shami took a hat-trick against the Dolphins.
Prior to Shamsi, the last player to take a hat-trick in professional T20 cricket was West Indian seamer Jason Holder. He achieved this against England in Barbados in late January 2022.
Before Friday, the last South African to claim a hat-trick in professional T20 cricket was fast bowler Kagiso Rabada. He did so against England, in November 2021.
