The first four players for each squad in the inaugural edition of the Women’s Cape Premier League have been named.
The Cape Premier League has existed as a men’s tournament since 2019. The first women’s CPL is scheduled for late September to mid-October 2023.
The men’s CPL comprises eight teams. The women’s CPL will start with four teams.
The Atlantic Pirates Women have selected Durbanville Cricket Club batter Corne Nortje. The Cape Vikings Women have Somerset West Cricket Club seamer Alexa Jooste.
The Peninsula Patriots Women have University of the Western Cape Cricket Club wicketkeeper-batter Jae-Leigh Filander. The Hoeri Kwaggo Bulls Women have Old Mutual Cricket Club wicketkeeper-batter Katie Seager.
