Former Boland batsman Murray Commins and former Dolphins seamer Graham Hume debuted in Test cricket on day one of Ireland’s one-off fixture against Bangladesh in Mirpur on Tuesday.
Commins, who also represented South Western Districts, and Hume played domestic cricket in South Africa before pursuing international careers with Ireland.
Hume and Commins have been capped at ODI level by Ireland. Hume has also played T20I cricket for Ireland.
Commins is the son of former Proteas batsman, Jon Commins.
Former South Africa Under-19 all-rounder Curtis Campher and former Zimbabwe batsman Peter Moor were also named in the Ireland XI for this week’s one-off Test.
This is Campher’s Test debut, while Moor previously played eight for Zimbabwe before relocating to Ireland.
