Bellville Cricket Club have lost the services of former Western Province and Cape Cobras cricketer William Hantam, ahead of the 2015-16 season.
The 32-year-old batsman, who last played first-class cricket in 2012, has joined Cape Town Cricket Club.
“William is in good financial standing with our club and is therefore cleared to play for the club of his choice. We wish him well in his cricketing career,” read a brief statement from Bellville Cricket Club secretary Dawn Boltman.
The transfer will bring a particularly intriguing dynamic to 7 and 14 November 2015’s Western Province Cricket Association premier league fixture between Hantam’s new and old club, which will be hosted by Cape Town Cricket Club at the Boon Wallace Oval in Plumstead, Cape Town.
