Batsman Bryce Parsons will play for Durban’s Super Giants during the 2025 edition of the SA20.
Parsons will play alongside New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson, West Indies fast bowler Shamar Joseph, Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis and other international cricketers at the Super Giants.
“Bryce Parsons, the Durban’s Super Giants up-and-coming star is a very powerful top order left-handed batter, he hits the ball a country mile. He reminds me a little bit of David Miller. So, when Bryce Parsons get going it is fun out there,” said former Proteas captain and SA20 ambassador AB de Villiers.
The Super Giants ended the 2023 SA20 in second-last position. In 2024, they were runners-up. They are captained by Proteas spinner Keshav Maharaj. Their head coach is former Proteas all-rounder Lance Klusener.
The Sunrisers Eastern Cape are the reigning SA20 champions. They are the most successful team in the brief history of the tournament with two titles.
The 2025 SA20 coincides with Bangladesh Premier League, Big Bash League in Australia and International League T20 in the United Arab Emirates.
“We see ourselves as very different to the ILT20. We’re a South African league, with a majority of South African players and our ultimate goal is to benefit South African players,” said SA20 league commissioner Graeme Smith.
