“We are looking at England’s short and long-term needs. Over half the squad consists of seamers, reflecting our continued focus on supporting these players to achieve their potential,” ESPNcricinfo quoted England and Wales Cricket Board performance director Ed Barney as saying.

McKenzie has worked with Flintoff previously at the Northern Superchargers in The Hundred.

Steyn’s role as as bowling coach with the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League ended recently. He will continue to work with the Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA20.

“A big thank you to Sunrisers Hyderabad for my few years with them as bowling coach at the IPL. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning for IPL 2025. However, I will continue to work with Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA20 in South Africa. Two-time winners here in SA20 – let’s try make it three in a row,” said Steyn on social media.
