Batsman Robin Das struck a century on first-class debut last week.
Das hit 132 for Essex against Ireland in a tour match against Ireland, who were preparing for this week’s one-off Test against England.
This week, Das collected a maiden half-ton in professional T20 cricket. His 69 from 33 deliveries guided Essex to victory over Gloucestershire in the T20 Blast.
Earlier this year, Das represented Strandfontein Cricket Club in the Western Province Cricket Association first division A in Cape Town before joining the Dhaka Dominators’ Bangladesh Premier League campaign.
He has previously played for Victoria Cricket Club in the WPCA premier league.
