Former Strandfontein Cricket Club seamer is new Montrose Cricket Club captain

Seamer Rostill Wessels has been appointed captain of Montrose Cricket Club ahead of the 2020-21 Western Province Cricket Association club season.

Wessels played for Strandfontein Cricket Club in the 2019-20 WPCA premier league, but has since joined Montrose Cricket Club in the first division B.

Montrose Cricket Club were a premier league club as recently as 2014, but have since moved down a couple of divisions.

The 2019-20 first division B saw Montrose win five and lose 11 matches, according to WebSports.

Former Proteas cricketers Wayne Parnell and Robin Peterson have played for Montrose Cricket Club.
