Former Sri Lanka Test cricketer Sanjeewa Weerasinghe has been named in the the United States of America Over-50 squad for July 2023’s tour of England and Wales.
Weerasinghe was capped at Test level in 1985 – and was in the USA squad for the Over-50 World Cup in South Africa earlier this year.
“This is the squad for the seven-game tour of England and Wales from 1 to 12 July 2023. We will play matches against India, England and Wales and participate in the four-nation Silver Dragon Cup hosted by Wales at the Newport Cricket Club,” read a statement from USA Over-50.

USA lost to eventual champions England in the semi-final stage of the 2023 Over-50 World Cup. USA and United Arab Emirates Over-50 were newcomers to the tournament, which was also hosted in South Africa in 2020 – and Australia in 2018.
