Jaco Castle joins Knights in WP veterans league

Durbanville Cricket Club all-rounder Jaco Castle will represent the Northern Knights during the 2021-22 Western Province Veterans Cricket Association league.

Castle was among the top 20 wicket-takers in the 2021 Cape Premier League, which ended last week. He represented the Atlantic Pirates, who lost the final to the Devil’s Peak Dragons.

Seamer Castle claimed nine wickets in five matches at an average of 16.8 and strike rate of 13.3, according to WebSports.

The WPVCA league is for 40-year-old players and older – and has grown to 14 teams.

Victoria Cricket Club, United Cricket Club and Hanover Park Cricket Club are the new additions alongside the Northern Knights, who comprise players from Durbanville Cricket Club and Brackenfell Cricket Club combination.
