Geoffrey Toyana has been appointed Easterns head coach ahead of the 2023-24 domestic season in South Africa.
Toyana was Titans assistant coach last season – and has previously been Lions head coach.
“I’m on my way there but I haven’t actually put pen to paper. I know Willowmoore Park so well. It’s the home of cricket in South Africa, isn’t it? I’ve been offered a two-year deal,” Toyana told Rapport.
Toyana played for Easterns before moving into coaching. This time, he will succeed outgoing Easterns head coach Sandile Masengemi.
“Remember, Ray Jennings brought me across initially from Gauteng when Easterns were given first-class status. Gauteng had just beaten Border in the SuperSport Series final and I’d lost my contract at the Wanderers. Ray opened another door,” added Toyana.
