Givon Christian has been appointed head coach of the Under-19 Cape Premier League representative team for the National Premier League’s Champions League later this year.
Christian’s assistant coach will be Keanan Mitchell. Both have represented the District Sixers in the senior Cape Premier League.
“The CPL is proud to announce the appointment of Givon Christian as the head coach and Keanan Mitchell as the assistant coach of the Under-19 CPL representative team,” read a statement from the Cape Premier League.
“The team will be playing in the upcoming National Premier League Champions League from 11 to 13 August 2023 in Johannesburg.
“Christian and Mitchell are both from the District Sixers. They bring with them a wealth of knowledge and cricketing experience.
“Christian and Mitchell complement each other well, and they are sure to have all bases covered as they bring both flair and consistency to the table. Their leadership and expertise will be invaluable to the Team as they strive to bring home the title.
“The team will be facing some of the toughest competition in the country, and much will be expected of them. However, with Christian and Mitchell at the helm, the team is well equipped to tackle any challenge that comes their way.”
