Seamer Glenton Stuurman will join Boland from the Warriors for the 2022-23 domestic season in South Africa.
Stuurman has played two Tests and one T20I for South Africa.
“It’s a flat wicket at Boland Park. It tests you and I like that. It asks, ‘How long can you
hold your skill for on a wicket like this?’ I’ve always done well there,” Stuurman told Rapport.
“It’s a different environment. The fans there love their cricket. I haven’t thought about the end
yet. I’m fit and strong. I feel like I’m 26, not 30 years old. I still think I can play Test cricket for the Proteas.”
Boland have also contracted Proteas batsman Keegan Petersen, who has left the Dolphins.
“We had a fabulous relationship with Keegan at the Dolphins, but he wanted to move closer to the family in Paarl and we understood that,” Dolphins chief executive officer Heinrich Strydom told Rapport.
Boland CEO James Fortuin added: “We’re happy to welcome back a player who left us for the Knights in 2016.
“After that Keegan was off to the Dolphins and now it’s back to us, so this is full circle. Let’s hope it’s where he stays to finish his career.”
