Green Point Cricket Club have signed Worcestershire wicketkeeper-batsman Gareth Roderick for the 2022-23 Western Province Cricket Association season.
Roderick played first-class cricket for KwaZulu-Natal before relocating to the United Kingdom. He is currently contracted by Worcestershire – and previously represented Gloucestershire – in county competition.
Roderick recently played alongside international all-rounders Moeen Ali and Dwayne Bravo in Worcestershire’s T20 Blast campaign.
CPT Cricket Tours bring overseas pros to Cape Town
CPT Cricket Tours brokered the arrangement between Roderick and Green Point Cricket Club – and have brought several other professional cricketers from England to South Africa in recent years. These include:

Cockbain and Stevens are CPT Cricket Tours brand ambassadors. Both have forged successful careers locally and abroad.
Stevens is currently with Kent for the County Championship, while Cockbain has played in the Pakistan Super League, Big Bash League in Australia and other domestic T20 tournaments around the world.
What Green Point Cricket Club said
Green Point Cricket Club compete in the WPCA premier league. They finished in third position in the 2021-22 premier league.
“We are excited to welcome Gareth to the Pointers for the upcoming season as our overseas pro,” read a statement from Green Point Cricket Club.
“Roderick is originally from Durban and is looking forward to getting stuck into some action with GPCC.
“A great continuation with Worcestershire after Jack Haynes came over earlier this year, we just had to bring another to Cape Town.
“With over 5,000 first-class runs and Gareth’s ability behind the stumps, we are looking forward to welcoming him to Green Point.”
