What Green Point Cricket Club chairman Marc Callanan said

“It was fantastic to be back out playing league cricket and with our first side back in the premier league after 20 years,” said Callanan.

All five league teams performed well throughout the season, with our Team of the Year – the third XI – captained by Natheer Allie, running away winners of their league.

“We were very proud to have the club’s top runs-scorer and wicket-taker, Zac Elkin and Saul Anstey, respectively, also finish top of the [unverified] overall WPCA premier league run-scoring and wicket-taking lists.

“Our annual general meeting and awards ceremony was a great celebration of how far the club has come over the last few years, with a big increase in membership and performances on the field to back up the hard work that goes on behind the scenes at the club.”
