Green Point Cricket Club recruit Tony de Zorzi and Brendon Louw

Cape Cobras batsman Tony de Zorzi and Western Province wicketkeeper Brendon Louw have joined Green Point Cricket Club ahead of the 2020-21 Western Province Cricket Association premier league.

De Zorzi recently left the Titans to join the Cape Cobras. Louw has joined Western Province from South Western Districts.

Both players’ appearances for Green Point Cricket Club will likely be limited by franchise and provincial commitments.

“Tony and Brendon, along with other new members, I am confident match the club’s ambitions and values,” said Green Point Cricket Club chairman Marc Callanan.

Three of our five teams were promoted last season and the remaining two ended in the top half of their respective leagues.

“There have also been individuals that have been able to achieve their goals. with Zac Elkin performing well for Western Province and attributing much of his development to his time with the club.

“We are excited to have Tony and Brendon on board for this journey.”

Green Point Cricket Club won the 2019-20 WPCA first division A to gain promotion to the premier league.

They have also recruited duo Daniel Childs and Gerhard Jansen van Vuuren from Bellville Cricket Club.

The start of the 2020-21 WPCA club cricket season has been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
