Gugulethu Cricket Club currently occupy 10th position on the 2024-25 Western Province Cricket Association first division A points table.

Gugulethu Cricket Club have won five and lost 13 fixtures in this year’s WPCA first division A. This includes wins over title contenders Pinelands Cricket Club and Northerns Goodwood Cricket Club. Gugulethu Cricket Club are currently positioned higher than 11th-placed Avendale Cricket Club and 12th-placed Strandfontein Cricket Club in the 12-team standings.

“We have talent and these youngsters are proving themselves now. They are scoring runs, taking wickets and having fun. Most importantly, the structure is there. Everyone is working on their game. I’m so proud to be Gugulethu Cricket Club’s player-coach,” batsman Mbulelo Nkomo was quoted as saying by The Vukani.

Nkomo, who joined Gugulethu Cricket Club from Langa Cricket Club in 2022, is among the leading run-scorers in this season’s WPCA first division A.

Khayelitsha Cricket Club are in last position on this season’s WPCA first division C points table. They have won five and lost 10 fixtures – and have 22 points. Ninth-placed Montrose Cricket Club, eighth-placed Atlantis Cricket Club and seventh-placed Kensington Cricket Club have 23, 24 and 24 points, respectively.

On the 2024-25 WPCA first division D points table, Nyanga Cricket Club are in last position with 10 points after two wins and 10 defeats. Ninth-placed South Peninsula Cricket Club have 10 points more than Nyanga Cricket Club.

Langa Cricket Club moved from the WPCA premier league to the first division C in 2022 – and have since shifted to the second division. They are currently in second-last position on the 2024-25 WPCA second division points table after 14 defeats. Langa Cricket Club have not won a match in the WPCA second division this season.
