Hampshire have signed Proteas batsman Tristan Stubbs for the 2026 T20 Blast in the United Kingdom.
Stubbs captained the Sunrisers Eastern Cape to the SA20 title last month – and is in South Africa’s squad for this month’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
“The 25-year-old has played 71 times for his country since debuting in 2022 and has featured in the Indian Premier League, Caribbean Premier League, SA20 and The Hundred,” read Monday’s statement from Hampshire.
“He recently won the SA20 for a third time in four years with Sunrisers Eastern Cape, who are led by former Hampshire head coach Adrian Birrell.
“Tristan is a hugely talented player with strong connections to the club through his time at Delhi Capitals and his relationships with our coaches, past and present.
“He’s a wonderful addition, and having him involved is a massive boost for both our squad and the competition as a whole.”
Proteas Lhuan-dre Pretorius, Dewald Brevis and Bjorn Fortuin played for Hampshire last year.
