Hanu Viljoen makes move up to Dolphins

Wicketkeeper-batsman Hanu Viljoen has joined the Dolphins in division one of South African domestic cricket.

Viljoen previously played for Northern Cape in division two.

Northern Cape head coach Mark Charlton confirmed releasing Viljoen – and signing all-rounder Ruan Haasbroek from Limpopo.

Northern Cape are the reigning 4-Day Domestic Series, division two, champions. They have won the title two seasons in a row.

Northern Cape have also signed batsmen Cole Abrahams and Ronan Herrmann from the Lions, former Tuskers trio Tian Koekemoer, Modiri Litheko and Stefan Tait – and fast bowler Hardus Viljoen from Boland.

Batsmen Chris Britz and Jason Oakes, fast bowler Johan van Dyk and all-rounder Grant Thomson have also left Northern Cape. Britz and van Dyk have moved to Easterns and the Knights, respectively. Thomson and Oakes have returned to Easterns and KwaZulu-Natal Inland, respectively.
