The Harare Hurricanes have named former Proteas batsman JP Duminy head coach for this month’s inaugural Zim Afro T10.
The Hurricanes signed Pakistan seamer Shahnawaz Dahani and former England captain Eoin Morgan before Monday’s Zim Afro T10 draft.
During the draft, they recruited South African duo Donovan Ferreira and Duan Jansen, Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan, Zimbabwe seamer Chris Mpofu and others.
What Duminy said
“Culture and connection is important to any team. It’s important that we get the connection right off the field that transitions onto the field when starting as the Harare Hurricanes,” said Duminy.
“I’m excited for the opportunity. I know Eoin has T10 experience, so it’s good to have that.
“I’ve seen Dahani play well in the Pakistan Super League, so it’s good to have him in the squad as well.
“Combinations will be important. If we can put together a really destructive top five batters, an all-rounder or two and an x-factor bowling unit, we’ll give ourselves a good chance.”
