Former Proteas fast bowler Hardus Viljoen has signed for Northern Cape ahead of the 2024-25 domestic season in South Africa.

Last month, Boland did not extend Viljoen’s contract. He has also played for the Titans and Lions.

“We are very excited to have Hardus on board. He had a wonderful last season for Boland,” Northern Cape head coach Mark Charlton told Club Cricket SA.

“He can bring a lot to our team. He bowls at 140 kilometres per hour and can bat, too. We can lean on all his experience. This is a fantastic signing for the Heat.”

Viljoen has competed in several domestic T20 leagues around the world, including the Bangladesh Premier League, Pakistan Super League, Caribbean Premier League, Lanka Premier League and T20 Blast.
