‘History made’ as WPCA first division B club debut 13-year-old in 1st XI

Yorkshire Cricket Club debuted 13-year-old spinner Gasan Moos in last week’s Western Province Cricket Association T20 first division B fixture against Bonteheuwel Cricket Club.

Moos completed figures of one for 13 in three overs in a 34-run defeat for Yorkshire Cricket Club.

“History made – at just 13 years old, Gasan Moos stepped up for his first XI debut, becoming the youngest ever player to represent the first team,” read a statement from Yorkshire Cricket Club.

“He held his nerve like a pro, finishing with one wicket for 13 runs in three overs in his very first senior match.

“Moments like these remind us what the Yorkshire Dragons CC vision is all about – creating opportunities, building leaders and uplifting our community through cricket. The future is bright – and it’s only just beginning.”

Yorkshire Cricket Club were promoted to the 2025-26 WPCA first division B after winning the 2024-25 first division C title.

Batsman Qaasim Salie and spinner David Schierhout have since left Yorkshire Cricket Club to return to Primrose Cricket Club in the WPCA first division A.
