Hanover Park Cricket Club president Ashraf Allie resigned this week.

Allie became Hanover Park Cricket Club president after November 2023’s resignation as chairperson.

“The executive committee of Hanover Park Cricket Club would like to acknowledge our respect for the decision of our club president, Ashraf Allie, to step down from his role,” read Thursday’s statement from the club.

“We understand and support the strategic reasoning behind this decision, which will enable Ashraf to continue contributing to the club’s success in a different capacity, while also pursuing other passions and commitments.

“We express our deepest gratitude to Ashraf for his unwavering and tireless dedication, leadership, and commitment to our club. His selflessness, vision and expertise have been instrumental in shaping our club into the vibrant and inclusive organisation it is today.

“As a club, we remain committed to our core values of robust and fair engagement and we will continue to strive for and drive positive change for the betterment of our members, our community and the sport as a whole.

“We look forward to Ashraf’s continued involvement and support, albeit in a different capacity and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

“Thank you, Ashraf, for your outstanding and loyal service to our club and the community of Hanover Park.”

Hanover Park Cricket Club compete in the Western Province Cricket Association first division C. They ended the 2024-25 WPCA first division C points table, which comprises 10 teams, in sixth position after seven wins and 11 losses.
