All-rounder Jaco Castle will play for Brackenfell Cricket Club during the 2024-25 Western Province Cricket Association premier league.
Castle played for Durbanville Cricket Club before joining Brackenfell Cricket Club, who have been promoted to the WPCA premier league again after winning the 2023-24 first division A title.
“Jaco is a massive inclusion for us. He will add value with the bat and ball – and comes with a wealth of experience on and off the field,” Brackenfell Cricket Club player-coach Rushdi Jappie told Club Cricket SA.
“That’s a big plus for our squad. I’m sure his input is going to filter through the entire club. We are excited to have him with us.”
Spinner Dayyaan Behardien has also joined Brackenfell Cricket Club. Behardien previously played for Rylands Cricket Club and the University of Cape Town Cricket Club.
“Dayyaan has a lot of potential. He is a left-arm spinner and bowls with good flight and variation. He was a standout performer at UCT Cricket Club and, when he was with Rylands Cricket Club, he took a five-wicket haul against Ottoman Cricket Club,” added Jappie.
“We want to help grow him to the next level. We want to add to his game and bring positivity to his career. We look forward to his arrival and the upcoming season.”
