Jacques Kallis ends Legends League among top run-scorers

The Asia Lions beat the World Giants by seven wickets in Monday’s Legends League Cricket Masters final in Doha.

The Giants posted a total of 147 for four in 20 overs. Former Proteas all-rounder Jacques Kallis top-scored with 78 not out from 54 balls, including five fours and three sixes.

Sri Lanka’s Tillakaratne Dilshan and Upul Tharanga struck a half-century each in the Lions’ reply of 148 for three in 16.1 overs.

Kallis was the 2023 Legends League Cricket Masters’ fourth-highest run-scorer. He collected 142 runs in three innings. Tharanga, India’s Gautam Gambhir and Dilshan scored the most, second-most and third-most runs, respectively.

This year’s Legends League Cricket Masters also included the India Maharajas, who had several former international cricketers in the squad, including batsman Suresh Raina, all-rounder Irfan Pathan and spinner Harbhajan Singh.
