Proteas batsman Tristan Stubbs was bought by the Jaffna Kings during Tuesday’s Lanka Premier League draft.
Stubbs joined the Kings for $15,000 – approximately R248,000. He played for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League earlier this year.
Brevis to Falcons
South African batsman Dewald Brevis was purchased by the Kandy Falcons for $25,000 – approximately R414,000. Brevis, too, played for the Mumbai Indians in the 2022 IPL.
Malan to Gladiators
Proteas and Boland batsman Janneman Malan was purchased by the Galle Gladiators for $40,000 – approximately R663,000.
Pretorius to Stars
All-rounder Dwaine Pretorius was drafted by the Colombo Stars for $60,000 – approximately R995,000. Pretorius represented the Chennai Super Kings in the 2022 IPL.
The 2022 Lanka Premier League will start in late July. This is the third edition of the five-team T20 tournament in Sri Lanka.
