Batsman Janneman Malan and all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo have not been contracted by the Proteas for the 2023-24 season.
Malan and Phehlukwayo, who were previously contracted, were excluded from the new contracted squad announced on Saturday.
Cricket South Africa have increased the number of contracted players from 16 to 20. The new contracts will take effect on 1 May 2023.
All-rounder Marco Jansen, spinner Bjorn Fortuin, seamer Sisanda Magala and batsman Ryan Rickelton have been contracted for the first time.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Heinrich Klaasen’s contract has been upgraded.
All-rounder Wayne Parnell has returned to the contracted squad.
