Jean du Plessis moves to Warriors from South Western Districts

Batsman Jean du Plessis will leave South Western Districts for the Warriors ahead of the 2024-25 domestic season in South Africa.

Du Plessis was the third-highest run-scorer in the division two of the 2023-24 4-Day Domestic Series. He hit 591 runs in 10 innings at an average of 73.87.

Du Plessis was also loaned to Boland in division one for one match – and hit a century against the Lions.

He also hit 50 not out and 106 for South Africa A against India A.

Proteas and Lions fast bowler Duanne Olivier, meanwhile, might join the Warriors as well.

“We’ve signed a letter of intent on behalf of Duanne,” Lions chief executive officer Jono Leaf-Wright told Rapport.

“As far as Duanne is concerned, we understand that the Knights and the Warriors are interested. We’re helping them in whatever way we can.”
