Proteas seamer Beuran Hendricks has been added to the Joburg Super Kings’ squad for next year’s SA20.
Hendricks, who is Western Province’s captain in this season’s T20 Challenge, has replaced the injured Nandre Burger in the Super Kings’ squad.
“New force on board – Welcoming Beuran as he steps in for Nandre. Rest, recover and get ready to roar again. Wishing you a speedy recovery, Nandre,” read a statement from the Joburg Super Kings.
The Super Kings acquired Lions all-rounder Evan Jones, North West captain Wihan Lubbe, New Zealand seamer Doug Bracewell and the Warriors’ JP King during this month’s player auction.
They later completed the 19-player squad with the addition of Sri Lanka fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana. He has played 12 ODIs and 14 T20Is since debuting in international cricket in 2022 – and represented the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League.
The Sunrisers Eastern Cape are the reigning SA20 champions. They beat the Pretoria Capitals in the 2024 final. The 2025 SA20 will start on 9 January, when the Sunrisers play MI Cape Town.
