Johannesburg Cricket Club all-rounder Brian Barnard will play for Cannock Cricket Club in England during next year’s South African winter.
Cannock Cricket Club, which enjoyed the services of the talismanic Kevin Pietersen before his rise to international fame more than a decade ago, are based in Staffordshire – and compete in the Birmingham League.

The 26-year-old Barnard has enjoyed a fine stretch of form this season, including twin centuries for JCC recently – and earlier this year represented a Gauteng Invitation XI against a strong England Lions unit.

The talented right-hander was due to join Cannock Cricket Club in early 2015, but his involvement in a motor vehicle accident delayed the arrival.

“We are delighted to have signed Brian for the 2016 season – and cannot wait to see him in action,” read a statement from the club.
