Batsman Joshua van Heerden has joined Western Province from the Titans ahead of the 2025-26 domestic season in South Africa.
The Titans selected van Heerden for six matches in the 2024-25 4-Day Domestic Series, division one. He did not play in the One-Day Cup, division one, or T20 Challenge.
“I had a conversation with the Titans during the contract window. They offered me another contract, but they said my game time would look similar to what it looked like this recent season,” van Heerden told Club Cricket SA.
“Western Province then also came to me and the game time just looked much better. So, yes, I’m moving from the Titans to WP in search of more game time.
“I learned a lot from my time at the Titans, from some of the big players, how they conduct themselves, how they perform. It has been interesting to see how guys who you share a changeroom with perform on the international stage – and to see that you are not far from it.
“I am excited to get to Western Province and hopefully add value toward winning more trophies. To play at Newlands, the best stadium in the world, is going to be super special.”
Van Heerden has also been capped at T20I level. He played 10 T20Is for Germany from 2022 to 2023.
