Joburg Super Kings captain Donovan Ferreira has been ruled out of the remainder of this season’s SA20.
Ferreira has been sidelined in the squad by a shoulder injury – and replaced in the squad by spinner Jarren Bacher.
Bacher was in the JSK squad previously, also as a replacement player, and has since returned.
Ferreira had replaced the injured Faf du Plessis as JSK captain earlier this year. England batsman James Vince will captain JSK in Ferreira’s absence.
The Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Pretoria Capitals and Paarl Royals have qualified for the play-off stage of this season’s SA20. The fourth and final play-off berth will go to JSK or Durban’s Super Giants. Reigning champions MI Cape Town have been ruled out of play-off contention this season.
