Leg-spinner Junaid Dawood was named in Western Province’s XI for Monday’s CSA T20 Challenge fixture against Boland at St George’s Park.
This marked Dawood’s professional debut at T20 level. He had been capped four times at semi-professional level, in the same format, between 2016 and 2019.

He was deployed as a third-change bowler and soon claimed the wicket of batsman Clyde Fortuin in final figures of one for 20 in four overs.
Dawood represents Western Province Cricket Club in Western Province Cricket Association premier league club cricket.
Levi and Vilas return
The fixture also brought the Western Province returns of former Proteas cricketers Dane Vilas and Richard Levi.
Prior to Monday’s recalls, Levi and Vilas had not played for Western Province for several years amid contracts with Northamptonshire and Lancashire, respectively, in English county cricket.
