Batsman Kagiso Rapulana has left the Lions for the Tuskers ahead of the 2023-24 domestic season in South Africa.
Rapulana has been capped 107 times in first-class cricket since 2011’s debut. The bulk of those came with North West – and 30-plus with Gauteng or the Lions.
“All good things come to an end, they say, and I have definitely lived my dream playing for the Lions,” Rapulana wrote on social media.
“Thank you to everyone who has made a positive impact in my life so far. I will forever cherish the moments we shared on and off the field. Excited for the next chapter.”
The Tuskers, who have been promoted to division one, have also recruited:
- Pite van Biljon (from Knights);
- Mbulelo Budaza (from Knights);
- Smangaliso Nhlebela (from Titans); and
- Thando Ntini (from Dolphins).
Batsman Tian Koekemoer and seamer Keith Dudgeon have been retained by the Tuskers.
The Lions, meanwhile, have also gained Proteas batsman Zubayr Hamza from Western Province.
