Rondebosch Cricket Club’s Kashief Joseph struck the highest score of the 2024-25 Western Province Cricket Association premier league last week.
Joseph hit 144 not out in Rondebosch Cricket Club’s 39-run win over Claremont Cricket Club at the RJE Burt Oval. He faced 164 balls – and collected 15 fours and three sixes.
“I was a bit nervous when I reached 99. It was a case of sweaty palms and to crown it all when I scored my century, I edged the ball which could easily have been caught,” Joseph was quoted as saying by the Tatler.
“I am, however, relieved to have overcome this mental barrier. When I reached 50 I gained more confidence from there on. Now I must build on this performance. I know it’s hard work, but I’m pretty confident.
“I am determined to work harder to become a successful professional player.”
Prior to Joseph’s unbeaten 144, Durbanville Cricket Club batsman Ruben Senekal’s 138 against Rondebosch Cricket Club was the highest score in the in 2024-25 WPCA premier league.
